With sorrow, we have to announce the death of Ivo Ivanchev – the creator, heart and soul of the Tortoise Centre on 31th of May 2023. We are mourning the loss of an exceptional musician and conservationist, who dedicated his life on the tortoises survival. He succeeded to turn himself into an excellent expert with knowledge and experience in the fields of biology, ecology and veterinarian medicine, and to develop the Tortoise Centre on a high level. He was a member of the IUCN/SSC Tortoise and Freshwater Turtle Specialist Group representing Bulgaria. He was beloved son, brother, husband and father, and always made an unforgettable impression on everyone he met.
